How Amazon Optimizes Sales

Here are a couple of very interesting articles related to improving sales by improving the customer checkout process:

  1. Amazon puts an amazing amount of thought, analysis and experimentation into their "Add to Cart" button. This article talks about the history of that button. Some cool screen shots go back to the early days.

  2. Another e-commerce company made changes to a checkout process that resulted in 45% increase in sales -- simply by not requiring a user to register in order to make a purchase.
