Blogger Chris Finke was watching last Wednesday's episode of the The Middle, when one of the characters mentioned this domain: BeardGuru.com
Turns out the domain was unregistered, so Chris had a chance to register it and find out how much traffic a domain "mentioned" on network television can generate.
Chris had to work fast because the episode hadn't yet aired the west coast. He put up a quick site that showed random quotes about "beards" and collected email addresses.
The result: A few hundred visitors -- not tens of thousands.
Still, I think this was a great experiment. And a big miss for the producer's of the TV program -- they should have had a site there.
